The colour of your skin, hair or eyes as well as your religion, beliefs, race, age, gender or the way you want to dress or choose to live are not an issue, as long you are a field hockey player or a fan of the game you are more than welcome to join. It is not important whether you are a good hockey player or just a beginner

The idea off the 13th EuroGames in Rotterdam

We will strive to give the tournament maximum exposure. To achieve that goal, we have kept a few basic things in mind. The most important one is that we intend to combine sporting and cultural events together as much as possible. In that way we will succeed in creating a compact tournament where participants will not have to travel all over town to reach a venue. Sports and cultural events will be organized in the same area. You will be able to check out another sporting event or visit the village during a break in your programme.

If you want to talk to a badminton player or a tennis player, then you can just hop right on over. Besides the practicality involved, this is also a perfect way to get that typical EuroGames atmosphere that we remember from Antwerp and Barcelona, for example. We want to give the EuroGames in Rotterdam a very visible character too. Not only visible to us, but also to the rest of the world, especially to the citizens of Rotterdam. The tournament and village will be freely accessible to every one.

You might run into a handsome straight guy or smashing girl from Rotterdam who is just curious about your sporting prowess or just wants to have a good look at what’s going on. Show your true colours! That’s the slogan we want to see in everything we do during the event. Including the sporting events themselves. Rotterdam intends to organize the biggest EuroGames ever. But we’re also intent on hosting an event where you won’t have to travel all over town to get from one venue to the other. EuroGames Rotterdam 2011: concentration of venues, so you don’t have to travel till you drop.
