BENTSTIX, was established in February 1996 during the Mardi Gras Festival. At this time we formed the first Gay and Lesbian Field Hockey Club in the world. The Club is active mainly in the summer, when we play in a mixed (male and female) field hockey competition at Little Bay. We have approximately 50 members. Each year during Mardi Gras we run the Australian PinkHockey Championship tournament.

The first Dutch Gay team was established in 2001 to participate during the Gay Games 2002 in Sydney. Unfortunately we only had a boy’s team competing in Sydney. But after the great successes they had during the Gay Games it went fast and now there are more then 50 people active. During the Eurogames 2005 & 2007 the Dutch where represented by 2 man’s & 2 female teams and we are working on a 3th team. Your welcome to join us.

During the Antwerp EuroGames in 2007 it was the first time British team participated. Both in the mens and female tournament a British team was represented. As firsttimers we did pretty well: silver for the Roses and bronze for the Guns. In England not only the Guns ‘n Roses hockey touring teams are active, there are also a couple gay & lesbian friendly clubs. More info about us and them you can find on our website.

Charme on Tour is the first German lesbian team and was established in 2001 to participate during the Gay Games 2002 in Sydney. Unfortunately we only had a girl’s team competing at this moment, but we hope to change this during the coming Gay Games 2010 in Cologne. By winning the gold medal in Sydney, Utrecht and Antwerp Charme on Tour is the most successful PinkHockey team.

New Zealand female team participated for the first time with a PinkHockey tournament during the Gay Games in 2002. The first man was welcomed during the EuroGames 2005 games in Utrecht. Although we are a small group we hope to participate with both a man & female team during the coming OutGames or Gay Games in Europe.  So if you’re both KIWI and a hockey player, your welcome to join us.

We are hoping to join one of the coming PinkHockey tournament soon. We are currently trying to gather interested players from all over the country to set up both a men and a female field hockey teams. Everyone is welcome to join, as long you are a hockey player. It is not important whether you are a good hockey player or just a beginner. Enjoyment is the most important requirement. Interested, please contact us.

During the Antwerp EuroGames in 2007 it was the first time a Belgium team participated during a Gay and lesbian sports event. Unfortunately we only had a mens team competing and as firsttimers we did pretty well: GOLD. Now one of our mayor goals is not only to find more gay players for our mens team but also to set up a female team so we wlll be playing during the Out Games in both the mens and the women competion.

This page is under constuction but please send us an e-mail is for any information about both the Argeninian mens teams.

Besides the Guns ’N Roses touring teams there are also a few gay & lesbian friendly clubs in London. Like the Remnants H. C. which seems to be the only openly gay women’s hockey club in the South East! But you can also join the Mill Hill hockey club based in North London with a range of mens, womens and mixed teams of all standards. Check this website to know more about us.
